My Family Room

Hello blogging friends, I just wanted to do a short post before I have to give my laptop back to my DH.  It's much easier to post when I have my computer.  So I will be back with a post next weekend and very soon a give away!!!! I promise it will be worth the wait.  I have almost 100 posts and I think it's time to celebrate.  Whoo Hoo!!

Here's my family room.  We are still working on the arrangement.  My armoire with the TV we would like to move it around to another wall so it's not competing with the fireplace as a focal point.  Plus the armoire is the first thing you see when you come in the front door.  I just don't like the TV being right there.

a view from the front door as you go around the staircase

the fireplace
I've switched things around several times and I'm sure I will again.

a new picture I found in town at a local antique shop, the owner gave me a 15 % discount just for shopping on a rainy day, gotta love that!

my little reading nook I love how this just seemed to click
not loving the wall arrangement just yet but I plan on getting a picture hanger for the one frame that way it won't hang so low

This gives you an idea of how the house flows.  The family room open into the kitchen and laundry room.  Eventually the TV armoire will hopefully go against the wall you can't see to the right of the couch.  Then we're going to flip it in front of the french doors and put the loveseat where the couch is now.  At least my DH is going to try it's all about the TV cables etc.

We took the kids to the fall festival at school today.  They seemed to have a good time.  We ran into some other parents that we went to school with and found another Air Force family that lives here too.  It was nice to chat with someone who really gets us.  Hopefully, we can become friends.  They have 3 kids, two of which are older than ours.  Christina and Robert got to ride horses and had a good time.

I am taking my husband back to our old house tomorrow so we can leave 2 of our 3 trucks here with me at the new place.  Fun, fun...10 hours of driving at least I have pretty leaves to look at on the way home.

Till next week, take care
Carey

  9. I found that I was able to buy good family room furniture for a great price at the spacify.com. It was less costly than elsewhere.

  10. Hi - I'm from the UK and looking for inspiration to create a family room. Over here in London our homes have 3 separate rooms on the ground floor, not good for family bonding. Yours is the best I've found so far on the web - nice and cosy, but neutral enough so the focus is on the family and not the room!
