Pineapple makeover and a little bit of Fall

Good morning, blogging friends! I didn't quite get this up for Whatcha working on Wednesday but I did have it done finally. I'm not very patient when it comes to waiting for things to dry. Remember this pineapple, I found it for 50 cents at a GW store.

These little pumpkins are actually candles that I just used a little spray adhesive on and added some spices. Some of it didn't get an even coat so the orange shows through a little bit which I thought added something to it. I have had these for awhile and I saw similar ones last Fall but never did anything with it.

GW finds and some new pics

Yesterday I was remiss when I reported about Melissa from Farmhouse primitives won, it's actually Farm Field Primitives. Sorry Melissa!

So today I'm going to a dear lady's house from our church, Alice. I have shared with you all about my quest to conquer pie baking. I've always enjoyed baking. So despite our heat warnings she says that doesn't stop her, LOL! We're gonna bake today. She has her own recipe that she promises to share and I'm really hoping she shows me a trick to the crust. I have so much trouble getting that right. The filling is much easier for me. She has a large garden, bless her heart. When we chatted she let me know that she has fresh rhubarb and some cherries that are ready. Yum! I can't wait. I'll report back hopefully with pictures.

Also, I thought I would leave with you few pictures from this weekend of my DC that my husband took. I think they turned out pretty good. I picked up some things at a GW store this weekend and some vintage dresses yesterday and they are so darn cute. The pineapple and slaw cutter were only 50 cents each.

Thrift Store Finds

After getting to prim shop Thursday I decided to check out the thrift store in Sparta to see if I can be as lucky as some of you ladies. A store on the main street was having a mother's day sale, 50% off. Score! So I picked up these things I thought I could makeover. I love the little mustard creamer already so I will probably just tuck this in somewhere. I like the little berry and basket picture too. I think the red around it is just too much so I plan on painting it a dark brown or black to make the colors in the picture stand out. I got all this for $2.25!

I think I will paint this and add a flicker candle and maybe some sweet annie.

I will repaint this and antique it a bit.

Hopefully, I can get this done this weekend and post some pictures by next week. We'll see how much I actually get done.
