Here's a peek into my bedroom. The quilt is pretty new and is burgandy with a little bit of green and brown checks with stars. The bolster pillowcase I sewed up myself and tied it with some twine leaving the edges rough. I have had my bedroom suite for about 13 years. I always wanted a 4 poster bed. It's all oak and very heavy. Shh... don't tell DH but I would love it were a little more prim maybe even painted black. That's not going to happen though. I picked up the Abe Lincoln sampler and ABC's sampler from a little antique store near me recently. My sister gave me the star sconces and I think they look great with the sampler. My curtains are from the Country House and the long panels I bought at K-Mart when we moved into this house. I plan on adding some small accent pillows to the bed. I may even try to use some coffee or dye to make my bolster pillow look aged. I tried to find a little darker checks but couldn't find anything else. Anyone have any tips I would love it if you'd share with me. Some of these pictures turned out kinda dark, sorry. I did my best on the lighting. Thanks for checking in with me!

ReplyDeleteI love your bedroom! It is so prim and cozy looking!
I wish my bedroom look 1/2 as nice as yours...I figure nobody but my husband and I go in there, so why bother with it looking prim! I think I need to rethink what it looks like now!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Looks good, I have that same quilt on my bed.
ReplyDeleteI love your dresser. Your bedroom looks very cozy and neat. Good job on the bolster pillow. I should think about making one of those. Oh I forgot, I don't sew! Thanks for sharing.
